There was a discussion about it during the Obama administration and how the administration was going after whistleblowers. I remember that Dan interviewed Binney, was a good show.
Of course the irony here is that Carter Page is a guy that any kind FISA warrant (or equivalent) would be appropriate (which was left out of the Nunes memo).
The sorry fact is that when Glenn Greenwald came out with the Snowden leaks, he instantly became a
persona-non-grata in the West (just as Snowden, perhaps not as bad but still) and now in order to have any publicity, now has to be totally uncritical about Putin. Talk about not biting the hand that feeds you. But if the US really goes after you, no other place to go to get your voice heard.
But anyway, perhaps nobody wants truly objective investigative reporting, but just investigative reporting that works for the agenda that one is pushing or the political side one supports. Truly objective investigative reporter would just be an asshole to everybody.
