I think it's strange that so many people miss the point that the CIA doesn't operate in the open like this. Nor does the NSA. If they are creeping into Russia's panties looking for a smoking gun, they aren't giving us daily status updates on their progress. So neither the FBI or the CIA actually examined the servers, collected data, and actually carried out any forensic work. Instead, they relied upon the same lying consulting group, CrowdStrike, to do it for them. This is the same group who was paid off to declare the Sony hack was from North Korea, when it turned out to be an insider.

In other words, the democratic party, trying to cover up the exposing of all their crimes and corruption, paid a third-party consulting group to "investigate" and declare the perpetrators as agents for the Russian government. The CIA took that report and made a report of their own claiming it was Russia without actually doing any forensic or investigation of their own. They leaked their opinion to several news organizations who subsequently ran with the story nonstop and act nonplussed whenever somebody question the veracity of this totally unsubstantiated claim.

It's worth noting that the FBI did not Request Access to the hacked servers of the DNC. If I had to guess, it's because they don't need to.

What makes Buzzfeed's anonymous intelligence source any more or less reliable than Washington Post?

Last I checked Buzzfeed doesn't have hundreds of thousands of bodies on their conscience in the aftermath of the Iraq War, but Washington Post sure as shit does.
