Like, I don't know what Mattis is doing behind the scenes, but if he was doing this, the first I would know, is when it went down, because again, a counterforce, you do not telegraph.

But here's the thing, Mattis just came out today and shot his mouth off about it, so what does that tell you?

That US doesn't have all it's ducks in a row yet, and aren't planning to get them in row that quickly, like I had previously suspected.

Well, the North Koreans clearly believe that the Americans ain't gonna do shit about it, until it's too late for them to do anything about, hence why the North Koreans are being so damn cocky and belligerent about it.

If they thought for a second that the Americans were actually going to execute a counterforce before they reach the threshold of thermonuclear ICBM's against the CONUS, they'd be being a hell of a lot more covert, the fact that they are coming right out and bitch slapping the Americans across the mouth with it, tells me they are absolutely confident that they have the Americans cowed already.

I don't think they are scared of the Americans at all, they say paper tiger, and they believe it, not only are they going to try to win the Korean War assymetrically by nuclear blackmail escalation dominance, they are supremely confident that they are going to win.

I think their confidence is misplaced and it would be wiser for them to tread lightly, at least down the stretch. Their delusional arrogance could easily come back to bite them in the ass, but that can happen when you drink your own kool-aid for so long I suppose.
