Well sure, but Duchene is a 1C in Montreal and giving that up for Galchenyuk straight up doesn't enthuse me. The only reason to consider it is because Duchene isn't as good of a fit on the Avs now that all the bridges have been burned, plus I don't want Marc Bergevin to win the trade, when everyone else fleeces his ass with ease, why the fuck can't we as well? Get him to throw in a prospect, since he hates them so much or a draft pick since that wont help them win now. Bergevin can be coaxed into giving up too much to try and win now, it could happen and has repeatedly as of late.Smitty-48 wrote:They're screwing Galchenyuk up in Montreal, trying to force him to be something he's not, which is a 1C, but put him on the wing with a MacKinnon and a Rantanen? I think he'd be good like dat.

I don't think Bergevin would win the trade, Duchene is no more a 1C than Galchenyuk is, all Bergevin would be doing is bringing in an older more expensive version of the same problem, whereas the Avs would get a top line winger who could score 30+ with MacKinnon, and could prolly get him for Nazem Kadri money, $4.5 for 5.

Maybe the media pressure will get to Duchene in Montreal, he has the tendancy to get down on himself and squeeze the stick too hard when things aren't going well, Galchenyuk is a better fit on the Avs than Duchene at this point but like I said Bergevin is fleecable, lets make sure we fleece him, not just maybe.Smitty-48 wrote:I don't think Bergevin would win the trade, Duchene is no more a 1C than Galchenyuk is, all Bergevin would be doing is bringing in an older more expensive version of the same problem, whereas the Avs would get a top line winger who could score 30+ with MacKinnon, and could prolly get him for Nazem Kadri money, $4.5 for 5.

Duchene would prolly be decent, he would prolly bounce back for a bit, if he didn't get hurt by having to do Auston Matthews job that is, but Galchenyuk would flourish methinks, once out of the spotlight in the fishbowl, with the pressure off down in Denver, just riding shotgun with a real 1C, and doing it for cheaper than Duchene.
Prblem with Matt Duchene; 5'11" 200lbs, lining up at 1C against 6'3" 215lbs, night after night, until you break him.

If we have to settle for just Galchenyuk fine, but lets try and maximize the return if possible. I'm sick of Duchene and his 3 goals in 42 games bullshit anyway, good riddance you fucking quitter, at this point I'll take that, seeing as it's likely that or a bag of pucks, or maybe even nothing at all. Fucking Duchene, way to torpedo your value when you want a trade by not showing up for half of the season.Smitty-48 wrote:Duchene would prolly be decent, he would prolly bounce back for a bit, if he didn't get hurt by having to do Auston Matthews job that is, but Galchenyuk would flourish methinks, once out of the spotlight in the fishbowl, with the pressure off down in Denver, just riding shotgun with a real 1C, and doing it for cheaper than Duchene.

The problem is Sakic is peddling Duchene as if he's Jeff Carter, when he's not, Duchene at C needs to be sheltered on the second line, he's an upgrade on a Bozak, but he's not a guy who can carry the mail for a hundred games down low and in the corners at 1C, and nobody is going to pay for Matt Duchene as if he is.

They would have if he scored 30+ goals and 60+ points on the worst team in hockey, with that faceoff percentage. Someone would bite if that was the case, despite him being soft, instead he quit on the team and shat the bed playing with talent at the World Championship, thanks bro, thanks a lot.Smitty-48 wrote:The problem is Sakic is peddling Duchene as if he's Jeff Carter, when he's not, Duchene at C needs to be sheltered on the second line, he's an upgrade on a Bozak, but he's not a guy who can carry the mail for a hundred games down low and in the corners at 1C, and nobody is going to pay for Matt Duchene as if he is.
Duchene couldn't even drag himself out of the slump playing for Canada against Belarus and shit, fucking clown show, "I don't like playing under Joe Sacco, Jared Bednar or John Cooper, just Patrick Roy", go fuck yourself Duchene.

Nah, nobody knows better than the Leafs; you can't fake it at 1C, 30 goals doesn't cut it, you have to have the Big Horse at 1C, there is no substitutes, and if you're going to trade the farm to get one, you're not trading it for a Matt Duchene, cause you can get a fake 1C for cheaper, you can have Galchenyuk, because if you are gonna try to fake it, might as well go younger, cheaper and bigger.

So you can only get away with being a small 1C if you're Sidney Crosby or Steven Stamkos in your world, otherwise they have to be Matthews, Malkin or Getzlaf sized or maybe give up an inch or two if you're Conor McDavid? Noted.Smitty-48 wrote:Nah, nobody knows better than the Leafs; you can't fake it at 1C, 30 goals doesn't cut it, you have to have the Big Horse at 1C, there is no subsitutes, and if you're going to trade the farm to get one, you're not trading it for a Matt Duchene, cause you can get a fake 1C for cheaper, you can have Galchenyuk, because if you are gonna try to fake it, might as well go younger, cheaper and bigger.
Not every team can get their hands a superstar 1C bro, you're spoiled on Matthews, some teams have to settle for the Matt Duchene's of the world, because they have no fucking centers who are even close to as good as him on their team, several of those teams of them out there, the problem is, Duchene quit on the team, so his value is way low because teams are worried he won't bounce back.

Sidney Crosby can get away with it so long as the concussion doctor says so, Connor McDavid, maybe, we'll see how he holds up under the pounding, Stamkos, no. Stamkos keeps breaking down under the weight of 1C, in case you haven't noticed, John Cooper is right, Stamkos is a 1RW.StCapps wrote:So you can only get away with being a small 1C if you're Sidney Crosby or Steven Stamkos in your world, otherwise they have to be Matthews, Malkin or Getzlaf sized or maybe give up an inch or two if you're Conor McDavid?
