Worse than it is now sure, worse than it would have been if we hadn't shut down all industries except essentials unlikely.SuburbanFarmer wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:04 amImagine how much worse it could get anyway.Montegriffo wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:03 amCaused by people in the supply chain falling ill from the bug. Point being that if we open up too soon it will get a lot worse.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

If you shut down too much it will take forever to get through it. You need to find a balance.Montegriffo wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:11 amWorse than it is now sure, worse than it would have been if we hadn't shut down all industries except essentials unlikely.SuburbanFarmer wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:04 amImagine how much worse it could get anyway.Montegriffo wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:03 am

So long as you understand that the only option we have right now to slow the spread is to stay at home. Disruption of supply lines of essential goods is an unintended consequence of not shutting down enough.Hastur wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2020 5:13 amIf you shut down too much it will take forever to get through it. Finding the right balance is just about the only thing policymakers are in control of right now. It is this that they will be judged on after it is all over.
Boris is already receiving criticism for his reluctance to act quickly enough and for pursuing herd immunity theories instead.

Read this:
ON NOT BEING A SHEEP
Honestly, to me it looked like a combination of LARPing and an attempt to plan the economy and tell us what was important and NOT ALLOW WHAT POLITICIANS THOUGHT UNIMPORTANT TO EXIST. This gross violation of our most basic constitutional rights seemed far MORE dangerous than any pandemic. Even one that killed 10% of the population. Because once you allow your rights to be stripped away, you’re not getting them back, as we have proof daily.

The Original thread post was great Fife. Also thank you for also linking that Social Distancing article.
You should post more. I'd like to hear a lawyerly take on the legality and the precedent of some of this creepy ass shit these Governors are trying to do. They probably feel quite important right now. Like a king ruling his fiefdom. Hope you are doing well brother!
