Meh - I've seen the early seasons a lot. Take the total current seasons and subtract 1. That's how many times I've seen each season. I'm mostly skipping through the story lines of the dead people and focusing on the nuances that led us up to where we are, now, for the characters who are still alive.brewster wrote: Sun Mar 03, 2019 1:37 pm
Sounds like a bad way to watch, it's just too rich a canvas.
I'll likely skip through Arya's journey of the many faces religion. I didn't enjoy most of that section.

That's a lot of Game of Thrones rewatches, and the series hasn't even finished yet. You do a rewatch every year or something?Kath wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 9:03 amMeh - I've seen the early seasons a lot. Take the total current seasons and subtract 1. Yes. I do. My condition has the side-effect of me not catching onto details as well as I would like. Re-watching helps me pick up on details I missed.StCapps wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 12:31 pm That's a lot of Game of Thrones rewatches, and the series hasn't even finished yet. I'm not re-watching the whole thing for the first time.
Last night, I got through the last seven episodes of season 3 in about 3 1/2 hours. Each season will take me longer to watch than the previous.

I rewatch Breaking Bad, The Wire and The Sopranos every year myself. I'm pretty good at catching onto details, but those shows are just too damn good, even when you know them inside and out.Kath wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 12:50 pmYes. I do. I think once season 8 is over, I'll wait for a few years before giving it another go. The longer I wait, the more I forget, the more I can have aha moments.
I haven't had to many of the aha! moments during seasons 1-3 rewatch. I feel like I have those memorized.
Season 7: time travel edition - will almost be like watching it brand new.

I only rewatch movies, but I've rewatched my greatest of all time list dozens of times.
Rewatching tv series is too much rewatching, I don't even get to all the new stuff as it is.

Can you narrow down to one favorite of all time? If forced to choose, I'd go with The Great Escape. I'll watch it with you today, even if I saw it yesterday.Smitty-48 wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 1:11 pm I only rewatch movies, but I've rewatched my greatest of all time list dozens of times.

Yeah but none of the new stuff is as good as Breaking Bad, The Wire and The Sopranos, even with the advantage of not knowing what's going to happen next. But I get the not being able to get all the new stuff you want holding you back from rewatching tv shows, but you are missing out if you've never rewatched the big three.Smitty-48 wrote: Mon Mar 04, 2019 1:11 pm I only rewatch movies, but I've rewatched my greatest of all time list dozens of times.

I mean those shows have such depth that you don't even realize how truly great those TV shows are, until you rewatch them, if you've only seen them once, they are way better than you remember.
