Re: Tariffs, Protectionism, Trade Deficits, and Trade War
Canada will submit, I don't think they have a choice. Hey, Fuck 'em. I have many Canadian friends, but we let them get by with a sweetheart deal for decades. When we asked to balance it a little they got all snooty about it and walked out of the room. So, now they get to live with their decisions.
I've been telling you guys for a long, long time. We are going to going to have a short war against the Mexican Drug Cartels. It will be a joint US-Mexican military operation that will decimate the Cartels designed to free the Mexican government from the cartels.

You all are arguing to keep giving the junkie (American consumers and industry) continued access to fentanyl.
I mean - you are essentially arguing for slavery. Fuck - the Asian proles are worse off than slaves because their plantation masters don't have to feed and/or shelter them. Don't cite me pictures of Chinese upper middle class - I'm talking about the salt of the earth poor ass farmers/factory slaves who number close to 1 billion.
The PRC is not going to stop dumping chemicals and plastic into the oceans....in fact, they're going to increase the amount they do so if you increase their profits...You always get more of what you subsidize right?
At some point - the damage to the environment and to the domestic economy from slave labor and no regulation outweighs the gains of "free trade". If you're looking at things through a purely economic filter - then yes - tariffs inhibit "efficiency" because it's always more efficient to use slaves and dump shit into the oceans...duh....
So are you saying that economic efficiency trumps all?
Are current market conditions leading to a more stable society or less stable society? Why do you think socialism is on the rise?

Re: Tariffs, Protectionism, Trade Deficits, and Trade War
https://theconservativetreehouse.com/20 ... ore-153488The Trump administration set a deadline of today for Canada to join the U.S-Mexico trade agreement and make the NAFTA replacement agreement a three-way pact. The concessions needed by Justin Trudeau and Chrystia Freeland to join the agreement were politically devastating.
In order for Canada to accept or join, via a NAFTA 2202 modification, they would need to agree to the U.S-Mexico modification terms. For Canada they would have to:
-open their telecommunications and banking sector (eliminate non tariff barriers).
-eliminate soft-wood (lumber) and aeronautics subsidies.
-begin a process of lowering their assembly use of Chinese/Asian goods.
-accept the rules of origin for North American manufacturing.
-eliminate protectionist tariffs on dairy and farm products.
-accept the U.S-Mexico terms for arbitration and dispute resolution.
President Trump and U.S. Lighthizer are holding all the cards. As we previously highlighted they don’t care if Canada doesn’t join; the U.S. would likely prefer to send congress a NAFTA 2205 withdrawal notification removing the U.S. from the original 1993 NAFTA construct in combination with a simultaneous 2202 modification notification for the U.S-Mexico side of the agreement.

Economic inefficiency generally leads to a lower quality of life - as that which is lost to inefficiency could’ve been more efficiently used elsewhere to improved someone’s situation.Zlaxer wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 5:54 am

Trade deficits hit all-time highs. It’s almost as if tariffs were exactly the wrong way to go...

Fuck 'em we've been subsidizing the fucking world for 70 years, and piling up a deficit doing it. Economically the US is the Patriarch and we have a bunch of spoiled kids like Mexico and Canada milking us dry, telling us............... but, but I need help with money cuz I can't do what the US does.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Wed Sep 05, 2018 9:14 amSeriously, dude.
