Re: President Delivers - US Sovereignty > Globalist Opinion
One should probably expect the US government has put pressure on countries they want to expand US economic interests in before Trump. New markets potentially mean new jobs, after all. Not excatly out of the ordinary behavior for any greater or major power that they'd dangle some incentive or disincentive in front of a country whose vote they need. Probably how, was it Saudi Arabia?, got on a human rights commitee.

The difference is abandoning all dignity and subtlety, and openly 'taking roll' of nations in the UN that don't go along with our latest decree.BjornP wrote:One should probably expect the US government has put pressure on countries they want to expand US economic interests in before Trump. This is not leadership, it's elementary-school politics.

Says a guy who is neither a leader nor a politician at an elementary school. Be quiet, pander boy. Your unhinged need to be Mr. Nicey-Nice so that the Jones’s will like you is a disorder, not a virtue. It suggests that the only leadership you’re qualified for is head lamb at the front of the slaughterhouse line.

Hey, it's super cool, if we're going to outright declare hegemony, and quit fucking around. Make the cat-hair cheeto our literal God Emperor, and it makes sense.DBTrek wrote:Says a guy who is neither a leader nor a politician at an elementary school. Be quiet, pander boy. But meanwhile, this is absolutely against our interests, regardless of how it makes you feel in your big-boy pants.

In pander-boy land, forcefully standing up for ones interests is against ones interests.GrumpyCatFace wrote: But meanwhile, this is absolutely against our interests, regardless of how it makes you feel in your big-boy pants.

You're among the many Americans here who wanted the US as much "disentangled" from foreign alliances and commitments as possible, so it doesn't really matter if your president's an embarrasingly whiny senile narcissist: He appears to be giving you what you want. All change is hard.GrumpyCatFace wrote:The difference is abandoning all dignity and subtlety, and openly 'taking roll' of nations in the UN that don't go along with our latest decree.BjornP wrote:One should probably expect the US government has put pressure on countries they want to expand US economic interests in before Trump. I missed the chapter where Machiavelli recommends that the Medicis start talking shit to their allies, and swinging their balls around.DBTrek wrote:In pander-boy land, forcefully standing up for ones interests is against ones interests.GrumpyCatFace wrote: But meanwhile, this is absolutely against our interests, regardless of how it makes you feel in your big-boy pants.

You seem to have extreme difficulty understanding what both allies and interests are. Until you figure these simple terms out there’s zero chance of you adding much to the conversation.
Pro tip: Those demanding your resources and influence only to admonish you when you Perdue your own diplomatic goals aren’t allies. Start there and see if you can figure the rest out.

1 - What 'goal' is served by moving our embassy to Jerusalem? Pissing off muslims?DBTrek wrote:You seem to have extreme difficulty understanding what both allies and interests are. Until you figure these simple terms out there’s zero chance of you adding much to the conversation.

2 - What do you suppose this has to do with foreign aid, or expending our 'influence'? Behaving like an insecure man-child seems to be a disturbingly effective campaign tactic, but on the international stage? Not likely to grow our power or prestige.
