Either way, if I've said it once, I've said it a million times: It was a mistake to teach the peasantry to read.

Well, I think a more educated population is better, what the problem is that we are dealing with a barely educated population, and that is dangerous.

It wouldn't be so hard to answer if we had more honest journalists in this country. Too much misdirection, misinformation, and narrative pushing in the media. They want to tell "their" story, as if they are writing shows based on true stories.

I still think it's possible to get to the truth, but you have to dig through a lot of crap to get to it. Then you have to determine, mostly on your own, what is true and what is not. I think some people, like a number of posters in this forum, have gotten pretty good at filtering out truth from BS.

Don't need journalists at all, dishonest or otherwise, to determine (on my own) what is true. The problem is that digging through a lot of crap to find the things I want to be true feels an awful lot like digging through a lot of crap to find the truth.

If you are convinced that journalists in the MSM are maliciously pushing an ideological narrative, why even concern yourself with whether or not they are running a story?

The real solution is for the public to stop giving these hacks their profits. I think that is happening, but it's happening way to slowly.

Profits?! It's the lack of profits. People who want profits get out of the MSM, it's the folks who have an agenda who buy up those properties. WaPo, USA Today, CNN, Politico, Huffington Post; those are political mouthpieces, not profit centers.
