FYI to lurkers, this GCF character, not even a week ago, said it would take tens of thousands of terror attacks on Americans before he would change his mind on the issue of Muslims of immigration.. This guy is a huge loon.

I stand by that. It's a non-issue, given proper vetting.Speaker to Animals wrote:FYI to lurkers, this GCF character, not even a week ago, said it would take tens of thousands of terror attacks on Americans before he would change his mind on the issue of Muslims of immigration.. Blowback happens. You either deal with the underlying problem, or you clutch your pearls and panic about genocide. some people just aren't cut out to be Americans.

You can make the case that left wing controlled Hollywood did. i don't see politicians talking about how cool it is to shoot people or get into fistfights. Where do you see all of these shootings and fistfights from the right?GrumpyCatFace wrote:Has the Left fetishized gunplay and fistfighting as a means to end all personal disputes? Which side is laser-focused on gun rights? I only ever see that from the Right. And I always see it from the Right, sooner or later.Hwen Hoshino wrote:Virtue of violence? It's actually far more "Christian" in nature than the Right. However, they've been twisted into a victim culture.
The Right, meanwhile, does value personal freedom and responsibility. However, they've been twisted into some sort of dark caricature of those ideals - espousing the virtue of violence and fate as manifested by economic status. It's a sort of dark fatalism that's ultimately self-defeating.
Yes, the far Lefties are getting rowdy of late, but that's not their usual MO.

Solid point about Hollywood. I wouldn't pretend that it's a vast Left-wing conspiracy though.Hwen Hoshino wrote:You can make the case that left wing controlled Hollywood did. i don't see politicians talking about how cool it is to shoot people or get into fistfights. It's the right-wing culture. Always a bar fight , or posse to wrangle. Find me a western without a shootout.
All of this pearl-clutching when it comes from the other side is telling, to say the least. The Right has had this narrative rolling for decades, that 'we're less educated, but we've got country smarts'. 'We're broke, but we're rich cause we've got peace of mind'. 'We're the manly tough side, those city boys are pussies'.
It's a complete loser mentality, and it's finally being exposed as such. The fallout will be sad to watch, but growth is needed.

Lolz - you have no clue of which you speak.GrumpyCatFace wrote:The Right has had this narrative rolling for decades, that 'we're less educated, but we've got country smarts'. 'We're broke, but we're rich cause we've got peace of mind'. 'We're the manly tough side, those city boys are pussies'
I've attended some of the most elite universities in the world - I can promise you there are plenty of fiscal conservative laying low in such places.
You relish the notion that Fox News and People of Walmart.com provide an accurate representation of the "Right."
What you fail to understand is that most of the middle to upper-lower class (educated professionals) are fiscially conservative....their votes are just being drowned out by the massive and growing "working poor," aka, wellfare class...
The stat that most college graduates vote dem fails to account that anyone can go to "college" these days and major is whatver BS subject they want....in other words - most college graduates are fucking idiots.

Fiscal conservatives are not what I'm talking about, and you know it. And again, they aren't represented by any political party.Zlaxer wrote:Lolz - you have no clue of which you speak.GrumpyCatFace wrote:The Right has had this narrative rolling for decades, that 'we're less educated, but we've got country smarts'. Well then, what about the left's narrative of white privilege and constant race warfare? Viva la resistance!
