Your American "Socialists" concept of solidarity involves liking a comment on FB. For past USSR-supporting Socialists it involved travelling to Spain and killing Fascists or supporting regimes and terrorists who blow up people and/or whose national armies crushed revolts.

The item posted specifically said that right wingers are ostensibly tough guys because they are good with their fists, but in my experience that's not actually the case, in fact I find most right wingers to be pencil necked candy asses who would call the cops and/or their lawyers, at the same time, I've fought my way across the United Kingdom, and I'm pretty sure every guy who gave me a run for my money was a Labour lefty socialist.

As to NHL players, the gym rat super athletic NHL players of today, are total candy asses compared to the hard drinking take the whole summer off brawlers of yore. The Broad Street Bullies spent far more time in the bar than they ever did in the gym.

OP says "right wingers are tough guys with their fists, that's why they're not socialists, numales are wimps, that's why they're socialists", then Speaker says "mandatory gym, guys. . .", to which I said "gym rat and good with your fists; not the same thing", and further pursuant to the OP, I've fought many card carrying socialists who were world class street fighters, while it's rare to even meet a right winger who will even answer the bell, most of them are Tucker Carlson types, big mouthed pencil necks who would never step into the alley with you.

Again, I find most athletic gym rat types to be preening dandies who would get on their phone and call the cops if you called them out, most brawlers I know are maladjusted alcoholic slobs are just rattlesnake mean and hyper aggressive.

I would submit, the real dividing line is between bourgeois and revolutionary/counterrevolutionary, willing to kill and die for a cause vs. seeking the protection of the walls around the burg, and there are left and right wingers on both sides of those walls, thus why I have far more respect for the real deal Bolsheviks than I do for the faux Bolshies of Facebook, but the same applies to the right, plenty of chickenhawks in the ranks there.
