Tame rabbits sounds pretty exotic. Anyway, they'll never be that tame around here. Sweetbone rabbit is just about the best game animal for the skillet we have, right up there with quail.doc_loliday wrote: ↑Tue Jul 31, 2018 2:38 pmI dunno the legality cus I don't hunt for reals but my buddy has a little cabin/woodshop in the hills just out of town and we blast squirrels all year. With regard to the other animalia, there's tons of rabbits too but I don't care to shoot them cus they'll just let you come up within 5 feet and just sorta stare at you. I don't really want to shoot the coyotes either, I think they're pretty cool to have around, there's no pets or anything out there. A lot of snakes too. I almost stepped on a damn rattle snake a few weeks ago, scared the jeeblers out of me.

I get deer about 200 feet off my back porch on about a daily basis. I don't see a whole lot of other wildlife around here, though. Hardly a bird, rabbit, or squirrel to be seen.

I have some pretty big turkeys all around me here. They have no fear of people. I walk my dogs sometimes and they are just standing there daring me to try to eat them. Doggos are like, "Dad, you could just accidentally drop the leash."

We had a flock of turkeys that would frequent our backyard growing up.
Word is they're one of the hardest things to find in season.

Not here. We just went through turkey season in May and I saw them pretty much everywhere.

They're all over in CA, urban, suburban, and rural.
Of course they've made it like a deer tag system and you're only allowed two per season. There's a fall season and a spring season

If the balloon goes up, I am switching to cull all the turkeys mode right away before those hillbillies on the other side of the mountain get them all.
I just need to figure out how to easily prep a smoker.

Otherwise, you can make any charcoal grill into a smoker if you have the patience...or a old/unused metal cabinet file, etc.

This is the one I have. It's a grill, but it works great as a smoker.
Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

It is NOT a smoker, but it can be used as one...
