That is a good observation. The NFL for 20 years has operated on the hype machine and with this story and some others the backlash has occurred. You see ever since the OJ case and drama the NFL thought "wait everybody and thier mom is paying attention to this, this is great for us."

As long as the NFL is involved in some sort of ancillary way we can create this drama and get some PR. Our rosters are beginning to look like a daily police blotter do we downplay and sweep it under the rug like usual, No that is courtroom drama play that up, we get free publicity out of it and if we suspend them we look like goddamn hero's. Can we have referee quickly conference to talk out a controversial call or play.
