Then, as Trek already pointed out, the study uses Colbert as the barometer. A comedian who routinely bashes conservatives is found to be less funny by his targets. What a shocker.
If you watch the video, even as a liberal, you’ll cringe at what you see. I mean, Colbert was at his satirical best and very, very, funny, but you almost (and I underscore “almost”) feel sorry for poor W. being subjected to such obvious abuse to his face.
That's where a lot of comedy has gone wrong lately. It's past joking and right into verbal abuse and outright attacks of their targets. Of course, liberals find that hilarious. Oh the comedic genius of holding a presidents bloody head.

I’m going to take the extremely rare step of assuming that even the “common man” can name a comedy type beyond “disparaging normalcy”, and just keep feeding you rope.
