The ATF has to approve labeling.......... WTF.

That sounds fucking silly. Maybe that regulation needs to go so old boy can make beer for cannibal rape gangs
Do your beer labels not have to display the alcohol content?
If they do, you need a regulatory body to investigate the claims.
Unless you like watered down beer of course.
You are fucking dumb.

Now to you it may look like something you shove up your ass or that of a child, but I assure you it's not.
If you weren't so fucking dumb you would know that to measure the alcohol content of beer you record the SG before and after the fermentation process to find out how much sugar has turned to alcohol.
That needs a regulatory body of some sort unless you want to just trust the brewer's claims.

When it comes to beer . . . do't trust the brewers, trust the GOVERNMENT!

... and other wisdom from the UK.

I found it. It was approval for labels,
https://thetakeout.com/beer-labels-ttb- ... 1547664not a licence.
That’s because the Alcohol And Tobacco Tax And Trade Bureau (TTB), the agency responsible for approving all new beer and wine labels that will be sold across state lines, is currently closed.
Wow... that's truly insane. I don't need my federal government to be doing this sort of thing. Talk about a useless waste of my tax dollars. Do you think restaurants have to send in their entire menu, along with samples, so the fed can verify the mashed potatoes are really potatoes?

SMH

Note that these brewers aren't submitting samples; they are filling out forms. An unscrupulous business person can lie. Micro breweries are regulated on the free market; people who don't think the beer is good will (very) quickly spread the word. Business goes BOOM.

It's just a money stealing scheme by the fed. Look around the googles.... they are really only interested in making sure your beer name doesn't offend.

Well, you could have an independent profit-making regulatory body test the claims but I fail to see how that would be cheaper than a non-profit making government regulatory body.

...or you could just trust the brewery not to rip you off or put your driving licence at risk with their fraudulent claims.

I don't know how duty on beer is calculated in the US but here in the UK it is based on alcoholic content, another reason the govt' likes to be involved.

If you think all tax is theft and DUIs are an affront to personal liberty you may disagree.

+1

I'm pretty sure this shutdown is interrupting a committee trying to figure how to regulate the corner delis menu.

A non npc reporter would have asked why the ATF is involved with product labelling

Someone save us from the breweries. If they won't stop me from drunk driving then maybe the government will.

How did we get from verifying someone's form conforms to the norm, to, government involvement keeps DUIs from occurring? DUIs are the #1 cause of our car accidents. The Feds aren't saving us from that, and they never will.

A bureaucrat reading a form has saved zero lives.

Everyone knows that breweries are the most notorious industry for trying to make money by ripping off and lying to their customers. Otherwise, they could never stay in business.

There's a reason that bartenders and microbrewers are ranked right at the bottom (several notches lower than used car salesmen, congresspersons, and TV lawyers) on the trustworthiness polls.

Do you know for a fact that verifying the alcohol content is not part of their remit? If not the labelling authority then who does perform that task?

I suppose being able to call your beer ''Nigger's Nightmare'' or ''Faggot's Downfall'' would be the Liberty way to go...
I'm off to check whether ''Dyke's Destruction'' is already taken...

How do you know how many beers you can safely drink if you can't trust the alcohol content printed on the label?
Or do you have a zero blood alcohol limit for driving in the US?
