I believe if we allow people to live in houses, and rehab either at the house or allow them to be transported to a place where rehab is possible is better than what we are doing now for them, which is not even a bandaid on the problem.DrYouth wrote:If you want to improve someone's mental health...
You have to start with basic safety and security.
So yes... no housing... no mental health improvements. (score point to TC)
Institutions are renowned for being best reserved for the very last resort.
Ending the practice of warehousing the mentally ill in state run institutions was probably necessary.
I wouldn't really want to return to that.
But housing alone without other rehab type supports is also insufficient (score point to STA).

Legalize and tax the recreational drug industry (Similar to the pharmaceutical industry... because lets face it... the distinction is less than absolute)
Take the money you save from law enforcement and the imprisoning people and the money you gain from tax revenue and invest it in housing and rehab...
And you have just turned your society around.
Boom.
Let's put that before Congress.

No idea... I don't think there is a single department or agency responsible for this type of action if it became reality.DrYouth wrote:+1The Conservative wrote:I believe if we allow people to live in houses, and rehab either at the house or allow them to be transported to a place where rehab is possible is better than what we are doing now for them, which is not even a bandaid on the problem.

I have no problem with watching insurance companies lose money, amid a complete failure of land management. The Conservative wrote:Oh, it's still funny.TheReal_ND wrote:

Fatalities are quite low, so it's still funny.

Necessary cleansing. I feel bad for the animals, tho. That's probably a genuine tragedy. The Conservative wrote:But... over a million trees? Can we call that a statistics now?
