Re: United Airlines beats the shit out of passenger
Fuck the man baby and the virtue signalers outraged about this. Sometimes planes get overbooked and when they do you aren't entitled to act like a bitch and force a confrontation by refusing to give up a seat to a customer who paid more for a seat. This guy should have known there was an overbooking bump risk when he skimped on the ticket price, but instead he just acted like a giant asshole.

The change comes as rival United Airlines faces not only broad public backlash, but also a lawsuit stemming from a passenger’s forced removal from a sold-out flight last weekend.
Specifically, the AP said that it had obtained an internal Delta memo authorizing the airline’s gate agents to offer as much as $2,000 in compensation for overbooked flights, up from a previous high of $800, while Delta supervisors can now offer up to $9,950, up from a $1,350 maximum.
Well, that's a mistake. Don't tell everybody your max limit.

I'm not saying you leave 4 seats open, you don't need to create oversold situations, hence "guaranteed" seats for paying passengers.Kath wrote:Ok. Let's do a very quick back of a napkin calculation.California wrote:
Oh, they can afford roomy, guaranteed seats
You want the airlines to keep 400,000 seats free, every day, all year, in case they have nonrev/must fly.
400,000 * 365 = 146,000,000 seats per year guaranteed no revenue.
Let's sell those seats for $300.
43,800,000,000.00
That's 44 billion dollars in potential lost revenue at $300. (And how many seats sell for only $300? Not very many.)
Can they afford that? (Charge $400 on those lost rev seats and we're right at the $60B mark.)
So, no, California, they can't afford to do that.
The passengers are the reason for the airlines, not the crew. If there's some kind of emergency where the crew can't get to where they need to go the airlines need to eat it and figure out better ways to get there. Including chartering small planes

I'm really mad I don't fly all the time anymore. One $10k payout a year would be sweetSpeaker to Animals wrote:Penner wrote:Also, Delta responded with this new policy because of what happen to United:

The other guy paid more, he's more entitled to the service than the man baby who paid less and can get on the next fucking plane and stop being such a fucking bitch. No one can fly with too many passengers on the plane, and he fucking held the whole plane up to throw his little temper tantrum. Fuck him.California wrote:Yes you are. The other guy didn't pay shit. When you buy the service, you agree to the terms. The terms include you losing your seat in certain circumstances.California wrote:Yes you are. Can't fly other passengers without getting pilots to their destination either. A whole plane of passengers should have been delayed so the man baby can have his cheap seat? Fuck that, next plane faggot, better luck next time.California wrote:The other guy didn't pay shit.
