To clarify, I said Left and probably should not have. I should have just said Progressives. Because the GOP is filled with Progressives too. We are going through the Death Spasms of the Progressive Century. Neo-Cons are just Progressives with a different name. They believe in the same shit, Nation Building, Social Engineering, Eugenics, etc.GrumpyCatFace wrote:
Those are actually some very good points, except for the last one. Why would you be excited about both parties being rejected, and then pretend that the One Evil Side falling apart makes things better? If anything, you're much more likely to see incredible abuses of power, when one side is completely in control.
I'd like to believe that we come through this with a minor shakeup, and build something better. But, Big Change requires Big Change. I'm not confident that we don't send the whole thing into the dirt, trying to figure out what to do. If anything, that's far more likely than a 'change and renewal' cycle.
I'll keep preparing for the worst, but I do like your outlook. I hope you're right.
My Hopes for the future, the 3 things we have to do
1) We just stop with Nation Building
2) We pull back from buying influence around the globe
3) We deal with our internal problems before we try to tell everyone else how to do things
