This is a wild time to be alive........ I feel lucky to watch all this happen. We are in the midst of destroying the old world, formed out of the Great Depression and WWII. I don't know what is on the other side, all I know is I'm not afraid of it.
I’m curious what you see here to be optimistic about. Those old structures have held the western world together for generations.

I think you forget just how far down it is from here...

This is tough for me to answer, I will attempt it, but brevity will suffer.

1) I'm a history nerd, so being able to live through a historic period of change is just fascinating.
2) The world created post WWII was created along Democracy vs Communism lines. This world view was heaped upon post WWI restructuring of the world. All that previous structuring, lines and alliances are old and failing in the 21st C.
3) For the US, this is like being able to watch first hand the country go through the comparable upheaval only seen during the Great Depression, Civil War or American Revolution. It's absolutely fascinating.
4) Old models and fixtures are being destroyed and rejected everywhere
a. The casting couch behavior of Hollywood and Politicians
b. Our first non-government experience POTUS has opened up all kinds of possibilities. It's really paved the way to see very viable Rand Paul type POTUS, that just a year ago still seemed utterly impossible.
c. The old Media is tired, trapped by ideology and failing. New media is kicking butt
d. Previously there were a small center of independents and then the two big parties. Now we have a majority of independents and the major parties are being rejected.
e. Corruption in government is getting investigated, both Dems and GOP. Not as fast as I'd like, but it is happening.
f. The always intolerant, exclusive and bullying Left has been exposed for what they are, and they have been rejected by the majority of people. Now, that failed ideology only exists in small islands at Urban Centers.

I don't know what's on the other side of this, I don't know how much turmoil we will have to go through. I don't know how many innocents will fall in this upheaval, but I know it has to happen to build a better world for the 21st C.

I'm all for Sessions replacing Moore. Sessions can go back to the Legislative, because in the Judicial he's pretty damn weak.

Those are actually some very good points, except for the last one. Why would you be excited about both parties being rejected, and then pretend that the One Evil Side falling apart makes things better? If anything, you're much more likely to see incredible abuses of power, when one side is completely in control.

I'd like to believe that we come through this with a minor shakeup, and build something better. But, Big Change requires Big Change. I'm not confident that we don't send the whole thing into the dirt, trying to figure out what to do. If anything, that's far more likely than a 'change and renewal' cycle.

I'll keep preparing for the worst, but I do like your outlook. I hope you're right.

Sessions is a crazy loon with backwards ideas. He should have no power whatsoever in our federal government.
