It may be possible that you can't be a Marxist without being egalitarian but it is perfectly possible that you can believe all people are equal and deserve equal rights and opportunities without being a Marxist.
After all, you can be a Nationalist without being a racist but it is far less likely that you can be a racist without being a Nationalist.
