In Los Angeles, before they made the move to the Bay Area, the three women sat around a fire pit in Ms. Hart’s backyard, along with John Swartz, a producer at Lucasfilm, and talked about their hopes for the future of “Star Wars.” They wanted to tell beautiful stories, fulfill the expectations of loyal fans and create meaningful female characters.
The female leads are all ok. Leia Rey Jyn

But all the rest of the female support suck really really bad.

$536 million in five days, and it hasn't even opened in China yet, Last Jedi is killing it, cha-ching.

Rosie's presence went from okay to annoying when she tried to save Finn.

Definite negative on Rosie. They needed to be willing to give another 15 min to Rosie to get the audience to remotely give a shit. And there were far better arcs that deserved another 15 minutes.

Every minute Rosie was in the screen instead of Rey the movie lost a point.

The big spoiler on that one is that Han Solo was born Hahna Soloman. A Hasidic jewish female that left her stodgy religion and gender behind to become Han Solo. Han and Chewie are not just friends, they are Lovers. Han married Leia for appearances, but Leia left Han after too many trips to the Brokeback Nebula.

So Disney can buy up more properties and buy out the competition and create one giant monopoly?

Disney has the money to buy up any properties, it's more a question of who is willing to sell what to them.

In the near term, Disney may simply pipeline its content through Hulu, saves them from having to set up their own streaming service, but I think they need to see how that goes first, before they make any other huge acquisitions, in other words first see if you have a working platform to sell what you have now before you go buying up anybody else, because the real game here is to launch themselves into streaming.

It's not the case where they can just start streaming, and presto, they corner the market, if I was them, I would take is slow, they own 30% of Hulu, they can run content through that, and they can sell content as well, Netflix does pay them $300 million a year for content, so might just want to sprinkle it around for now.

They also need government approval for this as well.

The GOP is going to pull the anti-trust lever, over this? Doubt that. The Democrats will bleat about it, but I don't see why the GOP would be in the mood to listen to the Democrats right now, the Democrats have blown the bridges and are #TheResistance, so they don't have much influence at all.

Donald Trump is going to tell his buddy Rupert Murdoch he can't get dat paper? Yeah right.
