Since socialized benefits have no built-in efficiency feedback, they will eventually be overwhelmed by inefficiency. The military & judiciary have very gross cost controls that seem to be working but I don't know. Socialism is tough which is why it should be limited to the 5 essential operations of government: protection, environment, healthcare, judiciary & social security.

Dude, nothing wrong with the VA that some honesty wouldn't cure. Veterans are told outright to soak it for all its worth, and it's politically impossible to go after them. I would use it anytime, HOWEVER, folding it into Kaiser-like healthcare might solve that problem.

LULZ. Define "essential operations."

Protection: What does this term mean, outside of national defense against invasion?

Environment: What does the law of trespass, nuisance, &c. have to say about the "essential functions?"

Healthcare: Demonstrate that "healthcare" is a public good.

Judiciary: What does the ADR industry have to say about the "essential functions?"

Social Security: Demonstrate that "social security" is a public good.

I heard that "Ryancare" was going to remove the individual mandate but when you reinsure they would charge you an extra 30% until you pay back what you would have been paying while your coverage lapsed. that's pretty fucking jewed man.

A Liberty society is an alliance of people. Like all alliances, both sides need to feel they are better off with the alliance than without, otherwise they won't obey The Law. Socialism offers a better deal for a majority of people, but liberty allows for more control over your own life & the opportunity for great financial success of a relatively small amount of people. In a democracy we need to sell the idea of liberty or we'll simply be voted into socialism by the majority. The best way to do that is by making The Deal cover the basics (protection, environment, judiciary, social security & healthcare), and by promising "the most liberty to the most people."

Well, you only prove exactly why socialized medicine is such a nightmare. Thousands of veterans were essentially murdered for bonus checks by government employees, and Martin Hash couldn't care less. What mean things can you say that are worse than dying from prostate cancer while a man waits a year just to see the doctor?

Please. Take your socialized medicine and shove it up your ass. There are millions of us who can tell you exactly how fucking horrible it is, but you don't want to listen, and only threaten to insult them when they try to explain it to you.

Americans: you do NOT want the nightmare of socialized medicine. I live it. Ask any disabled vet who still lives how well it works.

It's really strange how the people that most often push for socialized medicine try to shut down the voices of people who actually have to depend upon socialized medicine.

If all Americans got saddled with socialized medicine, you better believe your dying complaints will receive as much or more nastiness as you see them dishing out to veterans who dare to tell the truth about the system.
