Oh I get it now, it's one rule for you and another rule for me. Thanks for clearing that up.
Yeah, sure.

That's what I said.

The overall median has continued to rise steadily, if slowly, to $57,616 in September 2016.

Now, I didn't say that. There is plenty of wealth in our country. I do say that almost all the wealth generated by the increasing productivity of the last 45 years has gone to the tippy top, with the help of the political establishment.

I hear all this talking about serving the American people, about expanding the middle class, and protecting us. It's a heaping pile of steaming manure used to cover our gradual enserfdom.

I agree, and at the risk of sounding monotonous, there is a simple solution: high progressive tax rates & confiscatory inheritance tax.

So do I,but that's Marxism don't you know, which is unnatural, and against God, so we can't it. :-)

Isn't it wonderful when everyone agrees that they money that others would leave to their children should instead be taken from them, so that they can have it. How noble.

Dude, you'll be dead. The agreement doesn't include your progeny, they can make their own goddamn fortune.

That's where we disagree.

The agreement includes me doing whatever I want with my energy, and that includes benefiting my progeny. This has already become an accepted, nay, expected part of our society, see child support. Once you've written into law that parents must provide for their children, you can't then turn around and place limits on how much support that can be. You've already said it's a good so vital that it must be enforced with force.

Inheritance tax is simply envy. Envy that others have been more successful than you in creating wealth to leave behind. There is no basis in logic for an arbitrary amount of wealth that a person is allowed to leave behind. Only petty envy towards those who have done better than you.

It's a child's reasoning.

That's not fair.

Speeding tickets aren't fair to people who want to drive fast. Better get rid of them.

Assault charges aren't fair to people who want to settle disagreements with violence. Better get rid of them.

Pedophilia charges aren't fair to people who want to fuck kids. Better get rid of them.

Do I need to go on?

Oh yeah, child support laws aren't fair to people who don't want to take care of their kids. Better get rid of them. Unless the people who abide by those expectations do so with too much vigor. In that case we need to take their money before they can make the rest of us feel impotent. You have to care for your children, but only so long as the rest us don't feel like we're not measuring up.
