MI6 and MI5 should be able to locate the operator. I am not sure who is in charge, but obviously they are not Britain's best.

Life is 21 years and that's the maximum penalty for deliberately endangering life. Can't even catch them yet so it's a bit early to say what they will actually charge them with never mind speculate on the sentence.
Lots of speculation about eco-mentalists. Dumbest ones yet if true.
Most of the air travel will still happen but now people have to drive to a different airport first. After 30hrs of shutdown Ryan Air moved all their flights to Stanstead (which spreads the chaos).
All this is doing is pissing people off. About as likely to help a cause as an IRA bombing.
Last time flights were suspended after a drone sighting they were back on within an hour and this is speculated as being down to the Army's counter drone kit.
A lot of the people held up by this are just trying to get to their families for Christmas.
I'd like to charge them with acts of terrorism if this does turn out to be environmentalists or industrial sabotage.
Police say they have leads and persons of interest but obviously, they are not releasing details yet.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I bet it's someone trying to drum up sales for their drone hunting drones. Or have I watched Phantom Menace too many times?
We are only accustomed to dealing with like twenty online personas at a time so when we only have about ten people some people have to be strawmanned in order to advance our same relative go nowhere nonsense positions. -TheReal_ND
