U.S. Abstains as U.N. Security Council Votes to Condemn Israeli Settlements
http://www.nytimes.com/2016/12/23/world ... -vote.html
Defying extraordinary pressure from President-elect Donald J. Trump and furious lobbying by Israel, the Obama administration on Friday allowed the United Nations Security Council to adopt a resolution that condemned Israeli settlement construction.
The administration’s decision not to veto the measure reflected its growing frustration over Israeli settlements, and broke a longstanding American policy of serving as Israel’s sturdiest diplomatic shield at the United Nations.
While the measure is not expected to have any practical impact on the ground, it is regarded as a major rebuff to Israel, one that could increase its isolation over the paralyzed peace process with Israel’s Palestinian neighbors, who have sought to establish their own state on territory held by Israel.
Applause broke out in the 15-member Security Council’s chambers after the vote on the measure, which passed 14-0, with the United States abstaining. Israel’s ambassador, Danny Danon, denounced the measure and castigated the council members who had approved it.

Any thoughts on this anti-Israel UN resolution that the US abstained from today? Not fully up to speed with everything but one of the things I liked about Obama over the last few years was how critical he was of Israel (atleast in his words)

Yes. The Trump administration is very Zionist. As a nationalist I have no problems with this.pineapplemike wrote:Any thoughts on this anti-Israel UN resolution that the US abstained from today? "$250,000 Helmet!!!" is just more concern trolling, it's a hard asset which the pilot uses for years, the cost of the rounds from an A-10's gun; burns $250K in 30 seconds, does anybody say that it is "too expensive"?TheReal_ND wrote:The helmet costs a quarter million dollars alone. And if smitty is correct, that's production cost.

Wait what? What happened to America First™? What interest do everyday Americans have in protecting Israel from UN resolutions?TheReal_ND wrote:Yes. The Trump administration is very Zionist. As a nationalist I have no problems with this.

None per se. However it does advance the cause of Nationalism. As long as they can have their ethno-state I can always hold it up as a shining beacon of freedom and democracy for the whole world to see.pineapplemike wrote:Wait what? F-35 helmet is going to replace everything as well, the next thing is F-35 helmets in the tanks, which allow the crews to look around as if the tank itself was invisible, no more looking through the periscope, just look around in any direction to see everything around you in X-Ray thermal vision, point and click to kill.
F-35 helmet is actually co-designed with the Israelis, the Israelis have already started to field these sorts of helmets in their tanks.

It's cool but it's electronics heavy. Trust but verify. I'm not sold on it anymore than I am over the AR vs AK debate.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
More concern trolling, there is no alternative to F-35 which is not electronics heavy, even with A-10, because in that case the weight of electronics has to be carried around by the troops on the ground to do the processing for the A-10, as opposed to just taking those electronics off the backs of the troops and putting them in the jet where they belong.
With A-10, you need a specialist FAC carrying 50lbs of electronics, with F-35, any troop on the line can call in the airtrike with a pocket sized phone.
"Hello, F-35 calling, Hadjis just over the next hill, here is a picture of them, do you want to kill these dudes, yes or no?"

I don't mean heavy I mean top heavy. If you were to have something that could decommission electronics, like say with a evil villain ray gun, you could render them into billion dollar hulks of fried circuitry. I'm deeply concerned concerning this and I think it should be scrapped in favor of training hundreds of thousands of F-16's that fly in about hundred mile radi.
