Good post.Cid wrote:The EPA is great. its recommendations are largely conservative and intervention only occurs in the case of gross public health hazards. Its budget is minuscule. Grants allow states to deal with externalities that businesses would otherwise have to either litigate/lobby away or deal with.
The one resource we have which will always be ours so long as our nation remains sovereign is our environment. We are so far from having onerous regulation with the EPA that the little good they do is worth it given the lasting effects of the bad things private interests do in keeping with their financial responsibilities.
I never really plan on leaving the country, because that's cowardice, but the country can be made unlivable. I'd rather not compete with China if this:
... is the result of competition.

If that's the case, even the NDP would buy the damn plane if they had a majority, no matter how much they yap about not needing it while being in opposition. The Liberals will cave even quicker, no doubt. It's only a matter of time.Smitty-48 wrote:F-35's brain is not only going to replace F-16 and F/A-18, it's going to replace everything, including air traffic controllers, when they spool them up still sitting on the Ramp at Nellis, they have a God's eye view which air traffic controllers can only dream of.
Telling you, Lockmart is an IT company already, F-35 is the new Apple.

The Liberals are ensuring that we will buy F-35, their stop gap Super Hornet buy of only 18 jets to be a place holder, guarantees it, when whatever government is in power when its time to buy the full package of replacements, the only thing available will be F-35, although the Liberals are making it so that the RCAF will have two jets in a high-lo mix, which is a massive change of policy by default, since they went to one jet only with the original Hornet in 1982, but high-lo mix is not a bad thing, although, it will be more expensive to run both in the end, but not prohibitively so, we're basically going back to the future, the RCAF will end up with the Super Hornet as the new CF-101 Vodoo for NORAD, and F-35 as the new Starfighter for NATO, except the game change for Starfighter was that it would carry nukes for Canada over the trace in World War Three, while the new Starfighter game change is Strealth and Sensor Fusion.StCapps wrote:If that's the case, even the NDP would buy the damn plane if they had a majority, no matter how much they yap about not needing it while being in opposition. The CF-35A will be the offensive weapon for overseas multilateral operations, the CF-18F will be the defensive weapon for bilateral NORAD.

Have you ever shot a Rhodesian load? I heard it has flachettes and a bolo. Damaging to the barrel but sounds fun.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
F-35's are spooky, they're doing things beyond what they were adverstised to do, without being told to do it, the F-35's reach out and talk to each other, without even being prompted, originally they were intended to operate as packets of four, flights which were linked to each other, but doing so by telling the F-35's to do it, turns out, they do it automatically without being told to, just on their own initiative, so when the pilots first turned the Block 2B Fusion Engines on, still parked on the ramp, they found that the other F-35's which were flying in the vicinity, had already passed the common operating picture to the flights, which hadn't even taken off yet, without being prompted to, over the MADL.
MADL has already begun to exceed its requirements, and they've just started to scratch the surface of what it can do, Sensor Fusion 2.0 and MADL, is what puts the F-35 out ahead of even F-22.
F-35 doesn't even need AWACS, the Fusion Engine on the F-35 makes AWACS obselete, huge bonus for countries like Canada btw, which would never spend the money on acquiring our own AWACS.

The helmet costs a quarter million dollars alone. And if smitty is correct, that's production cost.

If you want to talk about A-10 and how F-35 makes that a buggy whip; the way it works with A-10, is that the ground pounders have to process all the information and talk the A-10 onto the target, F-35 reverses the game, processes everything in a hundred mile radius, and then sends all that down to the ground pounders God's Eye View, the F-35 is seeing things sneaking up on the ground pounders before the ground pounders are even aware that they will be needing call in the airstrike, saying "watch out over the next hill, do you want to kill this; yes or no?"
