Who knew a hazy memory from 35 years ago, devoid of time or place, contradictory in number of participants, and rejected by every other named witness of the event - could be so convincing.

Not remotely true. Groping is not rape, and you still have no idea how prevalent it is.
Groping is something that if a guy did it to you, you would probably not stop bashing his head in. And yet few women bash gropers' heads in. We must truly be a superior species to have such incredible self-control: first to not grope as much and second to not beat up the gropers.

My girlfriend has said groping is more common than I would think, on subways, at concerts, festivals. It's happened to her and it's very upsetting to think about, speaking as a man that doesn't grope women.

Here's my daughter at that age. I asked my wife if she ever said there were people groping her or trying to grope her. My wife said not that she knows of. Like I said, when my daughter gets back from Iceland, I'll ask her.

It's upsetting, but it's more upsetting to have someone you know try to force himself on you. Most men don't find out how much this happens because we don't tell them about it, because then they'd get into fights and we protect our men.
