There was a little in there for everyone. Which kind of makes it a great speech, some mass appeal. If you lean toward Wilsonian Progressivism you heard some stuff you support. If you hate commies, you heard that. If you wanted to hear about independent nations looking out for their best interest, you heard that.

So the listener kind of gets to pick and choose how they want to take it and what to focus on. I wouldn't worry about Trumps base, it's not really going anywhere. There are some boundaries to that; Amnesty and a Wall are the 2 primary. Another unprovoked war would be in there too.

The kind of people that are "the base" for Trump will not be swayed whatsoever by his failure to do anything. The blame will go to Democrats, 'latte-sipping libruls', arabs, and anyone else that Faux Noise mounts a syphilitic rant over. He's assured their vote, no matter what happens, because "But Hillary" is still the rallying cry of the nation.

The alt-right didn't win Trump jack, they are useful idiots that are swiftly being thrown under the bus, because Trump doesn't need them. The alt-right won't sink Trump even if they turned on him as you suggest, not even close, so why should he give a shit about their opinions? DACA is not make or break for Trump's base, just a tiny ass extremist portion of his base that will never vote Democrat in 2020, that's simply not a threat that Trump cares about because it's an empty one.

Your views are indicative of a small extremist minority that considers itself to be "Trump's base", but really these folks are just inflating their own sense of self importance by thinking they won Trump the election and so he'll be their champion to rightfully repay them, but they are delusional. They might get mad once they realize that Trump has pulled the rug out from underneath them, but they aren't voting Democrat in 2020, especially when the Dems put up someone who will no doubt infuriate these folks to no end.
