It took me a decade plus, now I'm officially as cynical as Fife

I'm no cynic Carlus, at least not in that sense.
I'm a free American handing out white pills. Blue skies and sunshine in God's country. Deo vindice.
Now, I may be a bit "cynical" in the style of Diogenes. But that's different.

Re: Rejecting Institutions
that Cynicism means you have contempt for ease & pleasure
I can't get with either definition
I take my ease & pleasure, and praise the merciful Lord for it, lest I be ungrateful for all my blessings

Re: Rejecting Institutions
can't be no Greek Cynic for ease & pleasure then
ease & pleasure is what Dixie is all about
buckwheat cakes and Injun batter, makes you fat or a little fatter
now here's a health to the next ole missus, an all the girls that want to kiss us
if you want to drive away your sorrow, come and hear our song tommorow

Well I was being a little flip perhaps, wanting to work in the cynic as dog angle. When I think of Diogenes I think of the story where he answered Alexander's question of "what can I do for you, famous old man?" with, "you could step out of my sunlight."
Maybe I need to brush up on it, iunno.
But I'm no cynic, I'm just Scots-Irish white trash.

cynic means acting entirely for self interest, having no honour
or by the Ancient Greeks, contempt for ease & pleasure
that ain't no good ol' boy
that's them Yankees
good ol' boys is the opposite of cynics, honourable men who enjoy life to the fullest in the name of God himself
here's a health to all the girls who want to get with us

I reckon that's what I was getting at when I gave cousin Carlus a gentle nudge back on "cynical."
At any rate, they're iced down and errybody getting they heads right.
