That doesn't mean it can't happen again, under the right circumstances. Americans do not take kindly to gun grabbing, even as a rich society. If other insurgencies can do it to America, a much better armed American populace can do a whole lot worse. You over-estimate the governments ability to put down an insurgency of that magnitude, especially in the context of fifth generation warfare. It wouldn't even take that large of a portion of America to effectively resist them, even if most sided with the gun grabbing government.

Not saying it can't happen. Saying that, from my experience of Americans and reading about US society, it's not presently something that would enjoy popular support.
The two most violent vigilante groupings in the US are disorganized antifa groups and lone right-wing, 4chan manifesto writers who do a massacre and then off themselves...
Hardly something the US need to feel the slightest bit threatened by.

Well yeah, reports of Civil War Doomsday being right around the corner have been greatly exaggerated around these parts, we are in agreement there.BjornP wrote: ↑Wed Aug 07, 2019 9:50 pmNot saying it can't happen. We’re far too fragmented to organize around anything. Divide and conquer has succeeded completely.

I certainly don't, yet I get called a hack bitch on a daily basis.
It's a meaningless cliche used as an insult.
Either we are all hack bitches or none of us are.
Meaningless.
