Yet you had no idea why I was demonstrating that I understand what mental illness is and how I understand that you can't smile clinical depression away. Yeah, sure buddy. Sure you read the thread.
You started with "People are lonely because they choose to be".
I disagreed.
You reiterated your stance that loneliness is a choice.
I stated: "Then you don't understand what loneliness is. Someone can still be lonely in a crowded room. Not everyone is wired to just start talking to strangers walking by." Nothing about mental or chemical disorders, just that people are wired differently. If you took that as such, then how about addressing it in a way that makes sense and not following it up with: "You don't understand me, I'm bi-polar etc. and my family is A, b, and C. When did loneliness become a mental/chemical disorder and why are you saying that it is?"

I read through every post on every page. Saying loneliness is a choice a couple of times is not demonstrating an understanding of mental illness. Anyone else confused by Kath?

Indeed. Such are the challenges of this epically lonely time.

So we can live in a giant city and be as utterly alone and isolated as a fucking mountain man in the 19th century?

Yeah, great argument, guys. You really know how to defend the status quo here.

Life is too hard, I'm tired, I work too hard, there's nothing to do.

I'll never forget Drill Sergeant Garcia, Vietnam Vet,

YOU'RE NOT FUCKING TIRED,
I'LL TELL YOU WHEN YOUR TIRED.

Both of you are ignoring the problems people have presented, also backed by scientific research, to virtue signal about shit that has fuck all to do with anything.

We get it. You are super tough, strong, and resilient. We bask in your greatness.

Can we actually discuss the topic instead?

Nobody claimed there has never been loneliness and alienation before now. We are pointing out the very real fact that our society is becoming MORE isolating and alienating, mostly because of the multilculturalism, but also because of our over-reliance on technology.

Yeah, make it all about other people are inferior to you, and how you are so virtuous and strong. Fuck the actual thread topic, amiright!?

You would deny me my one opportunity to talk to THE MOST “X” in the world? That’s cold. I’ve never spoken to the tallest man, or the strongest woman, or the fastest runner, or the kindest monk ... but here I have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to address the most EPICALLY LONELY people, ever, and all they want to do is cluck like a bunch of angry old hens.

What a letdown.
