Make the penalties punitive.

35% of their staff gone due to immigration raids. What is their penalty for hiring illegal immigrants? None? So they'll do it again? Hmmm. What if we charged them a fine of $10K per person hired illegally, and put that money into enforcement? (I don't know the number, but make it punitive.) How many companies would have to pay that huge penalty before other companies would think, "nah, not worth it. Hire legally."

Then tell Americans they have to start paying their actual costs for stuff, especially food.

You need to look at Donald Trump as a salesman, not as a policy wonk, or his actions won't make any sense to you.

He's a terrible salesman, or, I'm not prone to be taken in by sleazy salesman tactics.

It's the latter, a lot of people are prone to sleazy salesman tactics, otherwise sleazy salesmen would stop using them, they use them for a reason, they work on the highest percentage of people, which maximizes sales. Same-same with politicians.

Trump is just doing what works, appealing to feelz, and he has a tendancy to ignore logic when it doesn't help him, just like any good salesman would.

Trump is not a policy wonk, he's a sleazy salesman who sales pitched his way to being POTUS.

Policy wonks don't win elections, sleazy salesmen do.

If Trump was bad at selling himself, he wouldn't be POTUS.

He already won. Maybe send him a memo about that?

Why would I support Hillary though? If we're going to have more of the same, I might as well be entertained in the meantime. Trump is obviously the lesser evil.

Obviously electing someone who hasn't held political office before isn't going to result in them not acting like a politician once they get elected, because once they are elected, they are a politician.
