Lulz
Make the penalties punitive.

35% of their staff gone due to immigration raids. What is their penalty for hiring illegal immigrants? None? So they'll do it again? Hmmm. What if we charged them a fine of $10K per person hired illegally, and put that money into enforcement? (I don't know the number, but make it punitive.) How many companies would have to pay that huge penalty before other companies would think, "nah, not worth it. Hire legally."

Then tell Americans they have to start paying their actual costs for stuff, especially food.

Talk to Tree company Asplundh.................Asplundh to pay largest fine ever for hiring undocumented workers........ has been ordered to pay $95 million in penalties

I agree on the food thing. We need to decentralize food production. It's already starting, more and more food production is inching locally. Thanks Micro Brewers for showing us local quality products and work and thrive. :D cheers

He's a terrible salesman, or, I'm not prone to be taken in by sleazy salesman tactics.
It's the latter, a lot of people are prone to sleazy salesman tactics, otherwise sleazy salesmen would stop using them, they use them for a reason, they work on the highest percentage of people, which maximizes sales. Same-same with politicians.

Trump is just doing what works, appealing to feelz, and he has a tendancy to ignore logic when it doesn't help him, just like any good salesman would.

Trump is not a policy wonk, he's a sleazy salesman who sales pitched his way to being POTUS.

Policy wonks don't win elections, sleazy salesmen do.

If Trump was bad at selling himself, he wouldn't be POTUS.
He already won. Maybe send him a memo about that?

You want me to reduce myself to the lowest common denominator? Sorry, doing that is leading to the dumbing down of America. We spend countless funds on the feelz. I'm tired of funding feelz (aka Theater.)

I want practical, cost-efficient solutions that will actually work. I'm so sick of paying for theater.

GOOD! Shout it from the rooftops. Dry up the jobs. Dry up the services. They'll leave if they have nothing to stay for.

Pie In The Sky Wishful Thinking.
PITSWT.

If you want the practical, cost-efficient solution that will actually work, you need to sell it with theater, or you'll lose to someone who sells some other idea with theater.

The theater is baked into the cake, that's politics.

If you don't like the game, don't play, bitching about it will do no good.

I see. Never mind. If you think it's broken permanently and cannot be fixed, you should have supported Hillary. Trump was supposed to be something different; now you are claiming he was always going to be more of the same.

LOL.

Yup mostly more of the same, never said different.

Why would I support Hillary though? If we're going to have more of the same, I might as well be entertained in the meantime. Trump is obviously the lesser evil.

Obviously electing someone who hasn't held political office before isn't going to result in them not acting like a politician once they get elected, because once they are elected, they are a politician.

You keep missing the part where I think the lesser evil is still evil.

I love the part where you pretend you were never part of the 'Trump is ever so dreamy," crowd.

I never was. You insist on believing that I'm lying about that though. I keep trying to tell you, you just refuse to listen. Calling you out for reaching to attack Trump doesn't mean I ever thought he was "ever so dreamy".

Obviously, or you wouldn't call it a lesser evil. I didn't miss that.

If you start viewing Trump as sleazy salesman, not a policy wonk, and you start viewing StCapps as foreign spectator with no horse in the race, not a Trump-bot:

You'll understand Trump better,
You'll understand me better,
And you'll understand my posts about Trump a whole lot better.
