It sure as shit could be. Antifa and BLM have dragged people from vehicles and inflicted grave bodily harm on them. Repeatedly. If they attack your vehicle, you do in my opinion have grounds to act in self-defense. It depends upon the circumstances, and I doubt any lawyer will try to argue it, because he really did seem to freak out. But it's ridiculous to pretend as if there doesn't exist good reason to act decisively when that group of people attack your vehicle.
