Uh huh. Your own politicians see enough risk to request 2500 troops to protect them from the possibility. They created this mess and they cannot be bothered to deploy enough troops to protect the rest of the residents or even crush the attempts by both sides to attack each other. It almost seems like your government wants this to happen and folks like you are too deluded to see it coming.

Even just the routine military presence on the streets of Paris, even when there is no terror alert, is three times the number of troops the British have deployed with London at the highest level of terror alert, the French have even pulled troops back from overseas missions, just so they can keep the presence up at home.
Meanwhile, Theresa May goes out to the Mosque today and tells them "we will do everything possible within our power to protect you" What, you mean like you did at Grenfell Towers?
Yeesh, life is cheap in England these days apparently.

Not so funny now is it you hateful little creep?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It's funny how Monty says "don't be daft, we don't need martial law", when it is quite clearly already in place, de facto if not de jure, the full jackboot for cracking down on any dissent, just minus the troops in the streets to bolster the security forces, just to maintian the facade that martial law is not in place, when it quite obviously is by default.
Just look at the charge; "arrested on suspicion of displaying threatening abusive or insulting written material with intent likely to stir up racial hatred", I mean, it's not that we could never detain someone on those grounds here, of course we could, right after we declared a state of emergency and invoked the War Measures Act that is.

This is my issue with a lot of liberals. They are more worried about some imam wagging their finger at them than at the security of their taxpaying citizens. They are upset when the government takes actions to prevent further attacks, but are fine when it oversteps its authority to prevent "hate speech." To his credit, liberal Glenn Greenwald complains about security measures, but he also has written a lot about protecting free speech. Many liberals I talked to in the past were fine with open immigration and were fine with hate speech laws, but are aghast at any suggestion that muslims were behind violence and fail mentally to link the two. If I had to pick between restricting immigration (limiting freedom of non citizens) vs. living in a police state (restricting freedom of citizens) I'd pick the former every time.
Unfortunately for Europe, due to the nature of its society, it is sometimes necessary for the military to make their presence known and restore order in the event of a terrorist attack. This is not malevolent. It is what every government in history has done when the peace is threatened.
