Your prayers were answered Xeno. Thank you.

It seems Cathy's mother simply freaked out...

Her father refused to let her attend his appointment after having a cyst removed from his kidney.

What she overheard implied there were many lesions remaining and they needed some procedure to address this.

So 1+1=2 for her and she was going to die alone.

This of course sent Cathy on the expected roller coaster ride.

Sorry if I put you on a similar ride... but it was stressful.

After some investigations it seems this is some sort of routine after care for this sort of cyst, not a death sentence...

Cathy's mother is ultimately a passive aggressive drama queen.

Everything ended well.

Cathy doesn't really like Birthday's to begin with, so I have a small suspicion that this all just played into the usual birthday pouting...

But actually, everything ended up going much better than usual!

By the time the day was done... I would say this was a glowing success of a 50th Birthday!

I am a happy man.

Now off to my first day of work after 4 months off.

On the Zoom from my nicely appointed office.

Yes... I will put pants on. I am a professional, after all.

My father died on the operating table when dealing with cancer, I know how it is... but in any case, I also have a passive-aggressive mother... been there, done that...got the damned t-shirt and burned it.

One thing I learned a long time ago, those people are born to make everyone miserable. (another reason I am leaving this state)....

The one thing I will say though is that if you can get through the BS and figure out what really is going on, you'll be better off. One thing I learned is that 90% of the doom they say it is, is normally all in their head.

Best kind of cancer is the non existing sort. Pew!

My wife lost both of her parents to C. It's hard to go through. I don't wish it on anyone.

What's a 50th Birthday during COVID without some good old family drama...

Birthdays always stir up family bullshit.

There is literally almost no way to get through a big birthday without some sort of meltdown...

But on the upside... it all ended well... and I was a hero at the end of the day.

And received my just reward.

She learned this on her 50th Birthday.

She's not in the mood to celebrate.

What a fucking year.
Really sorry to hear that.

The day before my 50th birthday was the funeral of one of my juggling friends who had died from a heart attack aged 47 while playing table tennis with me at the juggling convention here on the farm.
Around 25 of the jugglers there drove with me from the funeral in Manchester to come to the farm and celebrate my birthday. It was actually a great party and it was nice to have the support system of our friends around us for the weekend.
There was a lot of laughter and an awful lot of alcohol consumed. I think Gary would have approved.
Way to make it about your self Monte.

Most likely yeah. Whiskey is a white mans drink.
