I wonder if this author even knows about the 8000 miles of paved roads that the international forces left for the Afghani people.



The country had only 50 miles before we got there, and they didn't have any Papa Johns to do it for them. Heroin farmers aint up to the task. If we leave now, the Taliban will just destroy the roads, so we kind of have to stay.

The Soviets built them roads too. The roads were gone when we showed up in 2002.

But those weren't toll roads. That's why the Soviets lost the war. When you make roads a public good, when you don't allow corporations to charge whatever toll they want, you end up with Afghanistan...
