Can't believe we still suck so much at soccer... Probably because it's a boring-assed sport.
Actually you don't. USA are currently ranked 25th in the world (211 football nations)
Better teams than you didn't qualify. Capps is still bemoaning Italy's failure to reach the finals.
Unfortunately he's still being a pussy and only doing it by PM.
How are we ranked 25th, and didn’t qualify?
Because you failed to qualify in your regional group.
The rankings don't play a part in qualification because it would be the same few, mostly European teams going to the finals each time and the word world would be as meaningless as it is in the world series of baseball. ;)
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

You won't find a better baseball team outside of the MLB, tho. :) We're good at collecting talent.

Pretty sure the Leafs would beat the Cubs in a baseball game.

Well that's one way of saying only America takes baseball seriously.

Edit, replied to the wrong post by mistake.

Japan and the Caribbean are pretty damned serious about it, too.

Does that add up to 211 baseball playing nations or have you just made my point for me? ;)

I'm aware that boring-assed soccer is the more popular sport worldwide. I simply can't understand why.

It's probably a cultural advancement thing. Like Indians still rocking to disco, while we dropped it 40 years ago.

I don't get the game, either, but I'm guessing it's popularity is based on the cost to play. When everyone rallies around something in the name of national pride, and you grow up in that culture, you're going to love it. Chances are ridiculously high that if I was born in India and raised by Indians, I'd love eating curry. (I can't stand the smell of curry.)
Why are all the Gods such vicious cunts? Where's the God of tits and wine?

It's obviously, really.

Cubs have very little protective gear and, while their weapon -- I mean bat -- is fearsome compared to the hockey stick, the hockey players are better used to brawls. The Leafs would almost certainly beat to death most of the Cubs before the police rolled up on the field.
