***No Tolls*** Fight against Oregon tolls and taxation on Washington residents. ***Middle Class*** Increase the size of the Middle Class by encouraging Small Business. ***Family*** Make being married a tax and social advantage; Provide Daycare and promote having children. ***Education*** Give students a choice of how to be educated with vouchers, including self-paced online schooling at home. ***Jobs*** Subsidize entry-level jobs, and remove the social burden of employees from Small Business. ***Trade*** Insist on Balanced Trade with tariffs if necessary. ***Healthcare*** Medicare for anyone but contain costs through competition. ***Deficits*** Government debt is uncontrollable; time to create a new understanding of money that matches modern usage.

My gut feeling, take it for what it is, is that a winning platform across most of America, but outside the dense cities is this:

Fair trade with a mind towards the environment and sustainability as much as economic nationalism.

Pro-middle class taxation policy.

Subsidized day care, vocational training, etc. Community colleges should be paid through taxes rather than tuition, but should be geared away from university transition and towards vocations, especially trades. Day care has to be subsidized for women to have an equal footing with men in the workplace. It amazes me that few politicians understand this.


Just those three broad areas (fair/sustainable trade, middle class focus, subsidies on what gets people into the middle class and helps keep them there) can bridge a lot of different voter groups.

I don't like multiple direct objects or verb clauses in persuasive copy. If your residence within the District is useful against any opponents who either don't live or do business in your district, make it a quick hit direct action sentence, with a follow-up sentence to show that you ain't no Johnny-Come-Lately.

I’d warn against GCFs edits on the grounds that saying “subsidize” is going to alienate financial moderates and saying “voucher” will alienate many Democrats invested in the public school system. “Subsidize” May only hurt you with moderates, but “voucher” is probably going to get you core democrat backlash.

Or, I could be wrong. But why drop loaded words into this pamphlet when the best scenario case is no one is alienated, and all other results are all downhill from there?
