I know it’s not apparent to your generation, any more than water is apparent to a fish.
Was that a reply to me? If so, you're not making any sense. I'm not one of your "Millenials", and if we're using this definition of "victimhood culture"...:

https://www.theatlantic.com/politics/ar ... re/404794/

..then you have yet to argue how the study in the OP is part of that. For example, you can start by arguing why you think the WW2 generation would agree with you thinking study displays victimhood culture.

I’m not using The Atlantic to define victimhood culture. I’m observing a tendency in media to feed into this generation’s need to be constantly victimized by something, in this case lonliness.

Boo boo boo, we’re the loneliest according to whatthefuck study by whofuckingcares.

(No offense to the OP. This is just my standard reaction to all studies that portray modern life as the most dismal in some regard)

Don't dismiss this as victimhood seeking DB....

This is actually honing in on the real problem we have been dancing around.

Same findings Putnam was pointing out in his groundbreaking book "Bowling Alone".

This is the ill that lurks at the core of Western Civ.

This is a top candidate what is driving record levels of antidepressant use, other psychopharm, weed, fentanyl, obesity, personal debt and various other social ills....
The answer to loneliness is not pretending you are not lonely and "getting over it".

The answer is improving social cohesion.... so lets think about that... The left tends to be clueless about it, The right understands family, faith and flag...
Part of the problem is that loneliness sells a lot of merch.... so capitalists tend to capitalize rather consider real solutions.

Clubs, Community organizations, Local Hall gatherings, Sports leagues, More functional city planning... that encourages grass roots coming together.
But it has to be grass roots...
The State has done a shit job historically with its institutionalized daycares, schools, "projects", mental hospitals, old age facilities...
These are always anonymous, top down and unaccountable.

Much like people suffering from too little sleep, or too much exposure to the sun, people experiencing too much lonliness have the power to solve this “epic” liability themselves.

It’s not even a thing.

Here you go, free cure prescribed by Dr. DBTrek himself:

What other national ills can I cure while I’m here?

Well, DB... so anytime anyone vocalizes that something in society isn't going so well... that's what you would call their need for victimhood? I'm on board with the referenced definition in the Atlantic, but yours...? So, when you f.ex. complain about public schools not working, that's not you saying your kids, and other parents are being victimized by the public education system? That's just you airing a legitimize grievance against a powerful public institution?

Oh, well...

Maybe instead just acknowledge that not all reports, complaints, worries about an unwelcome direction of your country is about someone needing someone to blame or someone looking for sympathy? Could be that - just like you - they want to make people aware of or understand a problem to get more input on how to fix it. Just a thought.

No its not.

Actually, yes, it is. It's already born out by research. Multiculturalism is really bad for society.

Yep. You get it, you just don’t see it. Already posted a cure, by the way - but let me guess, y’all aren’t really interested in solutions. I mean, can’t be victimized by something with a readily available and easily implemented solution, right?

You’re telling me the age group that has recently moved away from their family and their decade-long known group of peers is the most lonely?

You are a crazy person.
You see the same thing everywhere.
Multiculturalism may very well be bad for society.
That doesn't mean its the leading cause of loneliness.

Technology is the leading cause of people getting disconnected from EVERYONE.

You can be a displaced, new white minority that doesn't mean you are lonely.
