Problem is, is that the military is probably infiltrated with the cartel money as well. I doubt there is any important societal group in Mexico that is not somehow influenced.

Really the only way to expel something like that from society, once it reached the point we see in Mexico, is military rule. Either the cartels win or the military wins. But in the end, the only way the military wins is with firing squads. It's technically a civil war. There are entire regions controlled by cartels against the government now.

People who scoff at my claim that America too will reach the point of military rule should take note at what is going on there.

According to official Mexican government data, released on Sunday, more than 7,667 people were killed in Mexico during the first quarter of 2018, that is almost a 20 percent increase year over year, “making it the most violent year in two decades,” said AFP.

This time last year, the figure stood at 6,406 murders, according to the Mexican government.

Luckily they have pretty strong gun laws, could you imagine how much worse it would be if they didn't? :roll:
