Ah, I had to watch the video to see she was the target of the comments. The article made it sound like she heard the comments, it wasn’t clear that they were directed at her.

That makes your example even *less* like the example in this thread, which is a woman quickly walking away when a couple starts filming her while obviously carrying on a pre-existing argument.

The link was just the recordings of racist comments being used to arrest/suspend the perps I guess.

Most people do not listen with the intent to understand; they listen with the intent to reply.

People who make a video, edit it and put it up on YT to create big, ad-revenue-generating drama certainly fall in that latter camp. Both express themselves using the same freedom, though one certainly seems to want to punish the other more for excercising their freedom.

Well, from an empathic POV I doubt any of us would want our kids, even college aged ones, hiding behind a dorm door as loud voices are yelling about how they hate them due to their race. So I bet everyone, if they’re being honest, would agree that they wouldn’t want their kid going through what the black girl was going through.

On the other hand, a party of three adults having an argument where no one is being intimidated is a different animal.

I guess my main gripe is with fragile adults. When did grown men (and women) get so damn fragile that every time they hear something they don’t like they have to record it and blast it on social media? What’s with all the attention seeking, and trying to document every minor bump you encounter so “the world can take action”?

Just doesn’t seem healthy.

For a start they tell us there are up to 300 under constant surveillance. 12 men on each of the 300. That's a lot of man power.
A lot of the mosques will be watched too.

Figures were out today and arrests of suspected terrorists are at a new record high.

The number of arrests for terror offences in the UK has risen almost 70 per cent in a year to a record high.

New statistics released by the Home Office show there were 379 arrests in the year to June, compared to 226 in the previous 12 months.

It is the highest number of terror arrests on record, coming in the period that saw four attacks hit London and Manchester.

Of the 379 arrests made nationwide, just under a third resulted in a charge and half the suspects were released.

The vast majority of those detained were men, aged over 30, British and of an Asian ethnic appearance, although more than a third of those detained were white.

Fifty-four female terror suspects were arrested – the largest proportion on record – and 17 of those held were aged under 18.

More than three quarters were categorised as “international” terrorists, indicating they were linked to or motivated by a foreign group such as Isis.

More than 30 of the prosecuted terror suspects have so far been found guilty and dozens of cases remain ongoing, while there are more than 200 convicted terrorists already in prison.

The Home Office said that the vast majority – 91 per cent – of those in custody held Islamist extremist views, while 5 per cent were from the far-right.
