I shorted it last week, in anticipation of the FCC vote. Had no idea about the Disney deal.

The bulls are running, that's what matters, you are shorting a bull market. Wait until just before Disney launches that streaming service before you short Netflix, that's the smart play.

It would be, in a market that was traded by humans. You can't beat the algos in a race, so you have to be early, which is often wrong.

I don't think people are going to throw Netflix away, at least not overnight, if Disney charges $5/ month and Netflix is charging $12/month, the nerds will probably pay that, but into the future, Netflix is really going to have to up its game, in terms of content, you don't take Luke Skywalker down with indie films.

Netflix has got to go big, they need their own proprietary franchises. They need to find something else to mine, other than Star Wars, Star Trek, and Marvel Comics.

Thing is, I love Netflix. It's got more television than I'd ever want to watch. But that doesn't justify anything near the 100x pe, or being the 'top gainer' stock for 3 years running.
