Taxations premise to me has always been about allocating resources based on the needs of society with a goal for overall stability. Individuals can prosper, and chip in proportionally. It’s not losing when I’m promoting stability overall.

Personally, that works for me, provided the money is being spent in a thrifty, responsible way - but that’s where the subjectivity always comes in.
I am all for games and bread. Its a must, especially in a society that is becoming poorer due to financial policies which afford easy credit to big money folks to buy up all the small businesses in this nation worth a shit for 3% interest.

We are well beyond that though. When you govt federally funded studies about gay frogs, its fair to say shit has gotten out of control.

You want to see revolution? Let people fend for themselves.

What you are saying is that since you are "comfy" lets keep everything status quo. No Drama Obama. Is that in the nation's long-term interest? Or should we be forced to face the reality that elite banks and PIFs are buying every asset worth owning in this nation for pennies on the dollar and at the end of the day, when all those business have me consolidated and "synergized" a lot of middle-class salaries will be gone and all that you will have left to offer people is games and bread.

Fiscal Responsibility has always been selfish to the left, except when they do it for themselves don't you know what?

Maybe if everyone helped themselves they would not need SSI and Medicare...

Or we can continue down the path of living on low interest credit cards.
Totally agree. Part of the balance has to come from people making smart financial decisions, but for Grassley to assume that the reason so many Americans aren’t saving enough is due to them living high on the hog and then rewarding those that are going to already be starting ahead is what make him such a douche.
Most millionaires became millionaires on their own. And its not just living "high on the hog" it living high on the hog using low interest credit cards.

Some people might say everyone should have a smart phone. I say, a smart phone is beyond luxury and anyone spending $50 a month to lease one is a retard instead of saving $50 a month.

Are you ready to let me declare how high on the hog people are allowed to live?

Is statement is so dumb. Shame on us for wanting to be smart with our money. Shame on us for wanting to save some of it for our kids so they can maybe have it easier than you did. Fuck off with that.

This is an issue that really fires me up. I grew up watching my grandparents sacrifice for the benefit of me and my parents. I then watched my parents sacrifice for me and my family. None of them were rich, or even upper middle class. I was the first in my family to go to college. Now people who probably wish their parents and grandparents did the same want to take from people like me who are now sacrificing for my kids. Each generation has been focused on building upon what was passed on to them. I'm not sitting on 20 million, but the philosophy is correct. First they only go after the super rich, then they take out the next level down. Eventually they come after people like me whose family has been working and saving and investing for generations to build something for our future, and they feel entitled to it because they don't have the same. When that philosophy meets up with my philosophy I will be enacting my 2nd amendment rights and fighting to protect that which is mine.

I've seen people who spend all their money and never save. I'm not talking about people living paycheck to paycheck because they are poor. I see solid middle class people spend every dollar that comes their way. What frequently happens is they then keep spending dollars they don't have. Eventually they are in debt so far they either file bankruptcy (which doesn't help the jobs you are so concerned about) or just skip out on paying people they owe (again, hurting jobs).

Good luck getting an affordable loan of any kind if no one ever saved anything. Whose going to have money on hand to loan to you? The few that did have the money would have you by the balls and you'd be paying double digit interest rates.

Uhhhh... Dude? My point that ACHIEVEMENTS are what make someone special, they stay with you even after you die. Wealth is just luck, it can vanish at any time.

There's a large percentage (was around 47%) that don't chip in anything.
