The way I remember it...

We were all in shock from the fatwa issued against the DCF.
Our stalwart patron of so many years was suffering from a terminal case of Trump-pox.
While the refugees streamed in, the DCF was still standing, everyone taking the time to say their last words...

And then...


We stood around in shock... some saw it as a sign of the coming Apocalypse.

But a plucky crew got to work, building threads and picking up moral.

We could create a new forum... we had what it took!

Our new patron seemed freedom loving and rich enough to handle the dynamism of this motley group of survivors.

For a while we waited for the arrival of the old guard.
One of whom lurked within our midst.
And some arrived.... except for DrTrech...

Rumours abound that he has been spotted in other forums hawking kitchenware.

Nice summary above...... that was a shocking day when the fatwa was issued.

I remember it well, the smell of cordite and burnt hair hung heavy in the air. Panic set in amongst the weak, the screams were heard all the way to Reddit. The Trump of Doom was upon us.

Today, one year ago, the first DCF member xfered over to MHF:

Penner Tue Nov 29, 2016 10:00 pm followed by C-Mag, California, Hastur, Smitty, LVH, Xenophon, Grumps, Monte, kybkh & Kath.
Since then there's been 155 others.
71 Members and a couple hundred Guests have been on in the last month.

You see you really should've put my username on 10,000 posts. I mean I am after all the first one that came over- right?

Also, thanks Martin for giving us another place to be dysfunctional at. DCF closing does kind of hurt since it was almost a home-away-from-home type place for a long time. Plus, there are some memorable moments that happened there.

Did anyone ''congatulate'' you on becoming our third ever archon Grumps. If not let me be the first to congatulate you on having far too much free time at work and far too much to say about any subject that comes up. Kudos my friend. I should really compose a line or two of verse but I'm not really in the mood for it today.
