Re: Dr. King, BTFO'd
I am literally offended by a man who used women as sex objects and committed adultry.
I get emotionally upset because my mother was cheated on by my father and we had a very difficult childhood as a result of similar womanizing behavior as displayed the MLK.
I demand his s monuments be removed and the streets all changed to Cassius Clay Blvd so I am not constantly reminded of the pain men can cause women through the sexual prowess.

Me too, and don't forget JFK, he was screwing all kinds of women on the side, we're gonna have to snuff out that flame and pave over his grave or something so I don't feel so offended.kybkh wrote:I am literally offended by a man who used women as sex objects and committed adultry.

I don't think it is too well known. The FBI thing is sometimes taught, but what was actually in it isn't. For the majority of young people who learn recent history from their fifth grade teacher and don't pursue it much after, the story isn't known in detail.Okeefenokee wrote:I know the story. Probably not too well known.
I could be wrong.

What the feelz of the accuracy of the memo? Could this be FAKE FBI NEWS deigned to discredit King decades down the road?

Maybe it's because I majored in history (with a concentration in American History) but that tidbit that he was having an affair and the FBI knew it and was trying to use it against him was something that I learn, from a long time ago. Personally, you don't learn that JFK had multiple affairs in 5th grade either. That stuff tends to be saved for much older students.katarn wrote:I don't think it is too well known. Why would you think otherwise?
He was one of the greatest rhetors of the 20th century, though.
His sex life doesn't really detract from his political life anymore than JFK's sex life should have detracted from his political life.

No, affairs were known to historians before this file dump. It's just there hasn't been a major revelation(s) concerning anyone just yet from this file dump.
Edit, added a comma deleted one word.

This is slightly different than an affair - this makes him out to be a swinger...cheapens his message IMHO - like he was only doing it for the $$$$$......
