Wow... the fact you guys don’t know what loot crates is shows how much of a gamer you guys aren’t... no matter how much you claim to be.California wrote:Want to do something about it?The Conservative wrote:Yes, predatory... and it gives a bad name to the gaming industry. I've never claimed to be a gamer
What are they, DLC that allows you to finish the game?
That's just the business model now, gaming companies can make a lot more money without all the work of producing a new game. It sucks, but its analogous to paying to check baggage on airlines, its simply part of the profit structure now.

And by reading your description, if you don't use the loot crate you get credits back that you can use for something else in game
The solution seems simple to me, don't like it? Don't buy it.

The Conservative likes to talk the talk when it comes to video games, but in reality he reveals his complete ignorance. Those crates are part of the gaming experience, and any real gamer would happily pay whatever fee they ask for to unlock higher levels of gameplay. Kind of sad this needs to be explained to him...

The rules and laws are there already for gambling. This would give games with this type of transactions to be rated mature or 18+ because by then people are “adults” in theory.Fife wrote:The Conservative wrote:This kind of situation needs to change. It's time to go the gym. Go run. Go beat people up in a UFC club (or probably get beat up). Go hiking, hunting, fishing, or stuffing five dollar bills down the g-strings of the girls at the local Treasure Club.
Games are getting unplayable fast. They really aren't that satisfying anyway. Not like they used to be.

I agree, and micro-transactions are killing games today too.Speaker to Animals wrote:It's time to go the gym. Go run. Go beat people up in a UFC club (or probably get beat up). Go hiking, hunting, fishing, or stuffing five dollar bills down the g-strings of the girls at the local Treasure Club.
