It does work. TV and mail work. Online is cheap no matter how you slice it. Banner ads, Facebook (omg, Russians), youtube ads, a website all dirt cheap.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I do, and I didn’t. I saw some blather on Facebook, but that’s about it.clubgop wrote:That graphic is very misleading, most of this money being raised is to hire staff and improve data ops. I mean they talk about youtube ads, where do you think the production cost come from? Those are TV ads made for TV double purposed and shoved on YouTube. GCF, unless you have some grade A ad block software on your rig, you saw plenty of political advertising online. Online advertising is cheap as shit, why is that idiocy?GrumpyCatFace wrote:Well, they aren't completely wrong.. This is idiocy.
IMO, advertising is 99% wasted money anyway. But if you’re going to spend it, put it where it works.

It's funny how you trash Boomers, when you're exactly the same as they are, and bitch about us exactly the same way they do, but we're just not into you and your shit, anymore than we were into your Boomer progenitors and their shit, because it's the same shit, we just live our own lives, with no delusions of grandeur about saving the world from itself.
Also, what generations have been fucking everything up? It's not the Silent Generation, Gen X, or Gen Y.. That propensity to want to join everything is at least as likely to result in people joining destructive movements as not.

I don't worry too much about it, I just mind my own business, I do my duty, but no more no less, never volunteer, just deal with your own shit, carry your own water, cover your arcs, and when there's a break in the action, smoke em' if you got em'.Speaker to Animals wrote:Also, what generations have been fucking everything up? No wonder the boomers hated us in the military. Come "volunteer" time, we became like that guy in X Files that could hide in your blindspot.

The problem with Boomers/Echo Boomers, is that they all want to be the officer, but they all suck at being patrolmen, too many wannabe chiefs, no indians. They all want to be in charge, but they have no respect for authority, they all want to run the show, but nobody wants to do any work. They'll all tell you how to dig a hole, but none of them have ever picked up a shovel.
The military is obviously the exception; just another reason why the military was good times.

That's actually a solid assessment of those two generations. Though there are obvious exceptions to the general rule. The boomers that enlisted were pretty tough and had no trouble picking up a shovel. Nukedog isn't averse to hard work either. It's just that the sentiment you described is more prevalent with their generations.

Yeah. Millennials are totally the ones manning the corporate helm right now. Keep deluding yourselves into thinking it's just some younger generation responsible. Echo boomers my ass. At least millennials have the balls to call their own generation out.

It's metaphorical tho, the metaphorical shovel, sure, they'll do some labour, but that's not what they think their role should be, they all think they should be up in the operations centre directing everything, they all want to steer, they all want to grab at the wheel, they all want to tell everybody else how to live, meanwhile, what are they actually doing for us? Not much, we just out here humpin' the boonies, and trying to stay as far away from HQ as we can.Speaker to Animals wrote:Smitty-48 wrote:The problem with Boomers/Echo Boomers, is that they all want to be the officer, but they all suck at being patrolmen, too many wannabe chiefs, no indians. They're all Whistleheads, or wannabe Whistleheads, the less you see or hear from them, the better.

You don't even know what it was like when MTV was cool. You have no idea. That shit went south by around 1992.
It was only a brief number of years where MTV was very cool. We would sit there for hours watching it. It was great.
