Well, to claim all the experts are wrong, the Congressional committee was full of shit, and the scientists who testified therein were lying, you kind of need an argument. Bluster and woo woo isn't convincing anybody in this forum.

There is no "deep state." There's just the "state." And Trump is a wholly-owned subsidiary thereof.skankhunt42 wrote:Jesus fuck. The deep state wants a fucking war, go figure. Man, our country is fucked up. Clandestine empire or not, what the fuck are we doing?

I don't find them to be experts, hysterical politicians blabbering on nonsensically, basing their conclusions on science fiction novels, the bluster is all on their side, "yeah, okay, whatevs" is not bluster, merely rolling of eyes in the face of blatantly ovewrought and breathless doomsday peddlers, fapping on with completely unfounded assertions for the purposes of MIC clickbait.Speaker to Animals wrote:Well, to claim all the experts are wrong, the Congressional committee was full of shit, and the scientists who testified therein were lying, you kind of need an argument. You're full of shit on this one. No argument. Just bluster. Okay. Your argument from incredulity fallacy is noted. You have nothing to offer here.

I offer the opinion; "breathless overwrought hysteria", people can take it or leave it, if they think you're the expert, more power to them, but I don't, I find you to be a breathless and overwrought hysterical nonsense peddler, on pretty much every single topic actually.Speaker to Animals wrote:You're full of shit on this one. "90% lethality" is completely unfounded, even within the context of advised analysis, you're pulling a number out of your ass, so there's no need to argue with that, "90% lethality" is disproven by default, opinion is more than sufficient to get you off your game, clearly, since you're getting upset about it already.

Yep, that was my main bone to pick with Forstchen. No historical basis for a 90% die off. Even the Black Death only manage 50% at high estimates in Europpe, more likely it is closer to 30%.

I have faith in Americans to pick up the pieces and move on, the republic will not perish from the earth, by North Korean EMP, would be some chaos, there would be an adjustment period, but Americans would rally and come out swinging, as they always do, the sun comes up the next day, American ingenuity goes to work, necessity breeds invention, back in saddle in no time, kicking ass and taking names.
If anything, America would come out stronger on the otherside, external forces attacking the republic, the ultimate American rally to the colors paradigm.

It was based on the worst-case estimates of the Congressional investigation, which was led by a scientific committee.
Whether we would hit that high rate depends upon how complete the damage of the attack and upon external forces (such as who can bring us supplies, how, and how much).
The crux of the problem is our dependence upon transportation and power to both produce food and distribute it. The cities obviously become a bloodbath no matter what, and most of the population now lives in them or around them.
My main criticism of the report is that people can obviously go quite a lot longer without food than was assumed. Still, without relief at some point, they all die anyway. It just takes a lot longer. But that gives you much more time to mobilize relief from Europe, Australia, etc.

"The cities obviously become a bloodbath no matter what, blah, blah, blah", except for the fact that Americans always rally in the cities when disaster strikes, first thing you see when a disaster hits an American city; Americans putting their differences aside and selflessly, even heroically helping each other out, but here comes the hysterical nonsense peddler with his "evidence based arguments" again. :eyeroll:

Well, at least we still have time for the Congress to take a vote to declare war on the DPRK.
That's a relief, eh?
When are they holding the vote?
