Connor Brown, 3 years, $6.3 million, $2.1 million AAV, RFA at the end of the contract? That's a hometown discount, was expecting him to demand more than that. Already a fan favourite but just took that to another level.

I'd say the window for trades has closed for now, the next window will prolly open around November, if the right deal for the right defenceman is there, then the Leafs should pull the trigger, but, I'm happy to take this lineup into the season, already one of the best teams in the league, certainly a beast in the east, not a favourite, but a contender none the less, so just get dem points and make the playoffs, and then it's wide open, with Matty, Willy, and Marns, triple threat, anything is possible.

Uh-oh, Capps, Duchene hasn't shown up for camp, agent says he's "skating in Toronto".

So he's continuing the sulky crybaby show? Why am I not surprised?

The Pens have a really good shot at a three-peat!
There is a time for good men to do bad things.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!

Patty Marleau, two goals in his first game as a Bud, assist by Matthews, Patty sick mitts, assist by Kadri, Patty snipes. So far so good.

Auston Matthews, goal and two assists.

Goals by Kadri, JVR, Nylander, and Marner.

Freddy Andersen, suprisingly rock solid, particularly early on, when the Jets came out flying and the Leafs were back on their heels.

Defensively, the Leafs shut Laine down, 7 shots, 5 of them blocked, no points.

Leafs powerplay, dominant.

Leafs penalty kill, tenacious,

Final score, Leafs 7, Jets 2.
