How does Britain produce electricity?
No man's life, liberty, or property are safe while the legislature is in session

Mostly natural gas, coal nuclear and renewable.
2015 figures, gas 30%,coal 22%, nuclear 21% and renewables 25%.
Renewables rising to 30% by 2020 and coal being phased out.
The economies of scale make electric cars more efficient and less polluting than internal combustion engines.
Non electric cars will not be banned in 2040 only new cars and vans will have to be electric.
Norway is aiming to do this by 2025 and India by 2030.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

How long until I can buy a Ford F-MOX Heavy Duty 6x6?

Meanwhile, keep on rocking with the Motor Law, Limeys and Nords.

It was prescient when you posted that song the other day, Fife; now you're just showing off.
"She had yellow hair and she walked funny and she made a noise like... O my God, please don't kill me! "

Most definitely. Upwards pressure on vehicle prices overall as well globally. If you have to ban something to get people to do something else, it means the something else is more expensive. Relevant markets are definitely going to see some material corrections depending on how likely people think the ban is going to happen.

Some of it will probably be offset by whatever bullshit "green energy" subsidies and grants etc. that end up also passing in conjunction. Basically obscuring the rise in actual costs by shifting price increases from discretionary budgets to compulsory budgets.

It's pretty obvious that this move is crony motivated e.g. electric car industry. Banning diesel/petrol cars because of poor air quality affecting health is so flimsy in the context that I have to wonder if it'll even get enough serious inertia behind it to pass given the entrenched interests on the other side. I don't really blame them for trying though - they're just following a broken incentive structure created of simultaneous big government and popular eco alarmism. Maybe it'll be able to successfully piggy back off the whole eco conservative/climate change bus though.

Air quality map shows green basically all over Europe. Even China (though sometimes pretty bad like right now) isn't generally as bad as people tend to think it is.

*edit*
And then there is the obvious issue of whether Britain can even expand power generation enough to transition into a fully electric automotive country say by 2050-60. Without nuclear I highly doubt that. RIP prices for anything to do with trucks/cars.

In the future goods, concubines and slaves in Britain will be transported from Sultanate to Sultanate by camel caravan. This Fatwa is a Progressive step forward.

I was just thinking about Mr. Ford's underlying desire to give the freedom of the road to farmers, and how this move's obvious result, the reduction in mobility, will lock people into crime infested, poverty stricken, urban hellscapes. Add a dash of Sharia on top, and it fits with Britain's campaign to submit completely, once again, to foreign invaders.

Owning a vehicle is owning freedom of movement. Take that away, put everyone on a state operated train or transport and you gain a lot of control.

How else can you get the rush of sneaking off into the countryside for some state prohibited hanky panky before big brother puts a bullet in your head?
